A body of a man was recovered from the railway tracks near platform number 6 at the Thane railway station at around 6:00 AM today, assistant sub-inspector at Thane Railway police station, S G Gaonkar said.
"After preliminary investigation, we reached the man's residence in Manorama Nagar here and found a dead body of a woman inside the house. Prima facie, it looks he allegedly stabbed his wife to death and then committed suicide," the officer said.
He said they are still trying to ascertain the identity of the man and as per people in the deceased's neighbourhood, the man worked with a chemical factory and the couple have two children.
