A 45-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife with an iron rod at their house today on suspicion of her fidelity, police said.
The incident occurred in morning when the accused, identified as Papa Rao, attacked his wife Lakshmi Bhavani (38) when their sons had gone to college, said Kothavalasa Circle Inspector G. Sanjeeva Rao.
He said the accused doubted character of his wife, which could be the motive behind the murder.
Rao surrendered himself before police. He was booked under section 302 (punishment for murder) of IPC.
