A 49-year-old man was hacked to death by three youths for rebuking them for allegedly teasing his daughter some weeks ago, police said.
Manikandan was on Tuesday killed in the presence of his wife Hemalatha, who raised an alarm forcing the youths to flee, they said.
He had screamed and thrashed one of the youth for allegedly teasing and harassing his teenage daughter weeks ago, the police said.
To avenge this, the youth and two of his friends went to Manikandan's house and hacked him, they said.
He was taken to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The trio has been arrested, they added.
