District and Sessions Judge Malaya Ranjan Das convicted the man and ordered the jail term. The judge also slapped a fine of Rs 25000 on the man, failing which he would undergo an additional year in prison.
The man had kidnapped the class 12 girl on December 26, 2013 when she was on way to her college at Aska on her bicycle. She was rescued by police from Aska the next day. The man was arrested following a complaint to the police by the girl's father.
