Man shot dead for resisting robbery at neighbour's house

A 35-year-old dairy owner was shot dead by a six-member gang when he resisted their robbery attempt at his neighbour's house in Loni area here.
The victim was identified as Kailash. After shooting him, all the accused, who had arrived on two bikes, fled with Rs 2.7 lakh looted from the house of Kailash's neighbour, identified as Ravi Agarwal, last night in Indirapuri Colony, police said today.
Kailash lived with his family in Indirapuri Colony of Ghaziabad. He also owned a dairy in Loni area.
According to police, around six armed persons barged into the house of Ravi who works as a salesman with a telecom company.
"Kailash, who was sleeping in his house, heard some noise emanating from Ravi's house. When he went to check, he found six unidentified armed persons.
"Kailash tried to resist their robbery attempt but the accused shot him and looted Rs 2.7 lakh from Ravi's house before fleeing. They also hit Ravi and his wife Kamlesh on the head with the gun," said a senior police official.
After the incident, locals rushed Kailash to the nearby GTB Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
"Police have registered a case in this regard and launched a manhunt to arrest the accused. Police are scanning footage of CCTV installed nearby area to identity them," the official said.
