A man wielding a kitchen knife killed a 1-year-old boy and injured two other children this morning in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.
A posting on Xinhua's Weibo social media account said the 23-year-old migrant worker attacked the children in a rented room in Zhongshan city. The injured were a 10-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy.
The account did not provide more details about the attack.
China has suffered a series of knife attacks on children, mostly in schools.
In May, a man with a knife wounded eight first- and second-graders at a school in central China. In April, eight knife-wielding men slashed at students on their way home, killing one student and injuring two in the northwestern city of Ankang.
