A man and his son-in-law, both proclaimed offenders, were arrested today for allegedly preparing bogus orders in the name of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's office, police said.
The duo, identified as Gurdial Singh and Deepak, had secured transfer of some employees of Ranjit Sagar Dam here in 2013 by forging "letters" in the name of the office of the Chief Minister, they said.
The accused also managed to secure employment for some people at the Dam project in lieu of money, police said.
When the matter was brought into the notice of high ups of Dam authorities, they swung into action and documents submitted by the concerned employees were cross-checked, which were found to be fake, and not issued by the CM's office.
Two cases in this connection had been registered against the duo, police said, adding both had earlier jumped bails in different cases.
The accused were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate here and due were remanded to the judicial custody, they said.
