The bizzare incident took place at Ambedkar Nagar Colony in Siddipet town of Medak district.
Police later explained that the suspected thief, Bhargav, in a failed theft attempt, stuck inside the chimney head up late yesterday evening.
He tried to get out of it for six hours but failed and eventually, shouted for help after which the neighbours alerted police.
Police personnel struggled for nearly one-and-a-half hours to pull him out this morning. The man has been arrested.
