Man stabs self after attacking wife

A 40-year-old man stabbed himself after shooting his wife with a country-made pistol and stabbing her after a tiff, police said today.
Jitendra Sharma (40) and his wife Neera (35) had a dispute yesterday night.
In a fit of rage, Sharma opened fire on his wife and stabbed her. Later, he stabbed himself, SHO, Shipra Path police station, Surendra Yadav said.
He said the couple was undergoing treatment at the state-run Swai Mansingh Hospital.
A case was registered against Sharma under IPC section 307 and sections of the Arms Act on the basis of the statement recorded by his wife, police said.

Preliminary investigation has found that Sharma, who was posted in the irrigation departement, was suffering from paralysis from the last seven years and posted at the irrigation department.
The couple started having differences when the wife started searching for a job. A liquor bottle was recovered from the room, police said.
