Man stangulates his woman friend, held

A 21-year-old man was arrested today for allegedly strangulating his woman friend, who was pressurising him to get married, the police said.
A report about a 21-year-old woman gone missing from Rohini's Alipur area was registered yesterday, they said, adding that a team was formed and a search was carried out.
During the investigation, it was found that she was last seen with one Pradeep. He was detained and questioned, following which he confessed that he had killed the woman.
He told police that he had known to her for five years and they wanted to get married.
But his family was opposed their marriage as she was from outside his caste, the police said.

The accused said that she was pressurising him to get married.
Fed-up of her pressure, he strangulated her using his shirt yesterday in a field, they added.
