German commercial vehicle maker MAN Trucks has put on hold its ongoing projects, including new product launches and upgradation of models, in India to comply with the BS VI emission norms which come into effect from April 2020.
When contacted, a company spokesperson confirmed the development but did not give reasons for taking such a step.
"The Board of MAN Truck & Bus AG has decided to stop all ongoing projects in India," the spokesperson said.
The management team at MAN Trucks in India has been asked to review the situation and present its proposals to the Board for future steps, the spokesperson added.
"The team is currently reviewing the same," the spokesperson said.
When asked about the scenario in the Indian market, the spokesperson said: "The projects in India stopped include new products for the current BS IV and impending BS VI emission scenarios."
