Manish Sharma elevated as Executive Officer, Panasonic Corp

Japanese consumer durable major Panasonic Corporation today said it has elevated its India Managing Director Manish Sharma as Executive Officer of Panasonic Corporation and President and Chief Executive Officer of Panasonic India and South Asia.
Sharma has become the first Indian to be appointed as Executive Officer, Panasonic Corporation, the company said in a statement.
He joined Panasonic in 2008.
Daizo Ito, previously President of Panasonic India, has been elevated to the role of Managing Executive Officer, Panasonic Corporation and Chairman of the Panasonic India and Regional Head of ISAMEA region.
Sharma as the President and CEO of Panasonic India and South Asia will preside over operations of Panasonic in India including group and sister companies and the group support operations.

The group companies include Panasonic Appliances, Panasonic AVC India, Panasonic Energy India, Panasonic Carbon India, Anchor Electricals, Firepro Systems.
Sharma will continue to report to Daizo Ito.
