The film, directed by Rajiv Patil, is backed by Akshay Kumar and Ashwini Yardi's Grazing Goat Pictures. It is based on novel "72 Miles' by Ashok Vhatkar.
"The motive behind bringing this film to London is to make this film available to global audience and connect with the masses on an emotional level," Yardi said in a statement.
The film is set in the time of '50s and '60s and is about the journey of a 13-year-old young boy who runs away from his hostel, and how he matures with time.
"I have seen some really interesting Marathi projects and love the cinema. I am personally touched by the story of '72 Miles'," he said.
The film is set to release on August 9.
