The 46-year-old singer, who parted ways with the billionaire last month, is planning to reveal her pain in a new record, reported Femalefirst.
"Mariah has been putting all her pain into a new album. She wants it to have the big heartbreak ballads she's famous for," as source said.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed that Carey and Packer are still battling over a financial settlement following their split.
"They're not close to reaching a settlement. Mariah has not spoken to James.
"(Packer) is causing Mariah severe emotional distress especially at such an important time of her life. He knows she is the queen of the holiday season and she knows he's trying to ruin it for her," another source said.
