Mastek appoints John Owen as Group CEO

Small-sized information technology firm Mastek today said it has appointed John Owen as its Group Chief Executive Officer with effect from November 1, 2016.
He replaces Sudhakar Ram who has been re-designated as Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the company, Mastek said in a filing to the BSE.
Owen, who will be based in the UK, has played senior roles in sales and marketing in organisations like Serco, HP and Nortel over the last 25 years.
In his last job at Serco, he was the sales and marketing director for the UK and Europe.
"I am very pleased to bring onboard a seasoned sales and marketing leader like John. With his deep expertise in business development and his track record in delivering growth - especially the UK government market - John is the right person to get Mastek back on a growth trajectory," Sudhakar said.
The BSE-listed company specialises in building, maintaining and managing bespoke digital solutions for clients in government, health, retail, and financial services. Digital solutions constitutes more than 50 per cent of its business.
Its consolidated net profit stood at Rs 7.7 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016, while its total income from operations was at Rs 125.8 crore.
