Matter of regret that none of univs in global top 200: Naik

Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today said that it was a matter of regret that none of the 700 universities and thousands of degree colleges have figured in the top 200 educational institutions of the world.
The governor was addressing the convocation of Purvanchal University here.
Asking the students to prepare themselves for tough competition in their future lives, he said that though massive strides have been taken in the field of education in the country it is a "matter of regret" that none of the 700 universities and 35 thousand degree colleges have found a place in the top 200 educational institutions of the world.

He also said that a "constructive approach was required for the country to emerge as super power and not a destructive one..And that everyone would have to work really hard so that India could regain its position of being world leader."
On the occasion, gold medals were presented to 51 students, including 30 girl students.
