The Emmy winner inked a deal with publishers Little, Brown to release a book titled "Heather, The Totality", due to be out next autumn, reported Contactmusic.
According to the publishing firm's site, his novel is a "dark fable set in contemporary Manhattan, about three people from two worlds who are on a collision course in pursuit of a beautiful child."
While his acclaimed drama "Mad Men" was inspired by advertising bosses based in the Big Apple in the 1960s, Weiner reveals he got the idea for his novel by overhearing a teenage girl's conversation in New York City.
"I can't imagine a more exciting way to begin this part of my writing life."
Since he ended a successful seven-season run on "Mad Men" in 2015, his only TV credit came earlier this year, when he directed one of the most buzzed about episodes of prison series "Orange Is The New Black" titled "The Animals.
