"A total of 56 nominations, including 20 by AAP, were filed on the second day of nominations today," an official of the Delhi State Election Commission said.
He said 23 nominations were filed for SDMC wards, 22 for NDMC wards and 11 for EDMC wards today.
The elections were notified yesterday and eight nominations were filed on the first day.
A total of 272 wards, including 104 each in North and South Delhi Municipal Corporations, and 64 in East Delhi Municipal Corporation will go to polls on April 23.
While AAP has announced its candidates in almost all the seats, BJP and Congress are yet to announce their candidates for the civic polls.
The last date of filing nominations is April 3. The scrutiny of papers will take place between April 3-5.
Over 1.32 crore voters will exercise their franchise in the elections, the official said, adding that the counting of votes will take place on April 26.
