Party chief Vaiko led the protest here and demanded that the controversial cartoon regarding the movement be removed from a Class XII NCERT textbook.
Vaiko had earlier written to Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal saying that the anti-hindi agitation, launched by Dravidian veteran and DMK founder C N Annadurai, was a "glorious chapter" in Tamil Nadu's political history but the cartoon had depicted students as if they were ignorant and indulged in violence.
