After a meeting with Achuthanandan, Patkar said the support of a popular and committed leader like him would give added momentum to people's struggles in various parts of the country.
"V S is an exceptional leader who occupies a central position in the struggle against corruption and attack on nature in Kerala. He is a real popular leader. He is required as leader of the people's movement at the national level," she told reporters after calling on the 87-year-old leader at his residence here.
During their meeting Patkar discussed some crucial issues with Achuthanandan such as serious ecological fallout of allowing filling up of paddy fields for commercial purposes and the need to build resistance movements against such onslaughts on nature.
