Mediapersons trapped in lift in Assembly premises

A team of presspersons and also officials of some departments of Puducherry government who were proceeding by a lift on the premises of the Assembly from ground floor to the top floor here today were trapped for nearly 30 minutes apparently because of overloading.
They were proceeding from ground floor to the top floor where a meeting was being addressed by Chief Minister V Narayanasamy with representatives of various sections to enlist their views on the budget that would be presented in the Assembly shortly.
As soon as the lift started moving up it got stuck at the first floor sending everyone into tizzy.

Security staff in the Assembly however rushed immediately to open the gates in the first floor as soon as they had information of the elevator being stuck while on its way to the top floor.
Presspersons and officials became panicky for a while and heaved a sigh of relief after the security staff managed to open the gates with keys.
