The closing function of the conference, attended by delegates from SAARC countries including Afghanistan and Pakistan, witnessed meaningful discussions in the three sessions of the day, said Dr Sabiha Hussain of Jamia Millia Islamia's Dr K R Narayanan Centre for Dalit and Minorities Studies.
The role of women in augmenting peace and furthering tolerance in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India including Kashmir was elaborated in one of the technical sessions in which Afghanistan delegate Shinkai highlighted the role of women in the country.
"It is through relentless activism, dedication and blind courage that women could help change the mindsets of people," Rula Ghani said.
The conference organised by Dr KR Narayanan Centre for Dalit and Minorities Studies, in collaboration with South Asia Women's Network (SWAN), was attended by academicians, journalists, lawyers, activists and policy makers from India and other SAARC countries.
