Meeting called to discuss tea garden workers wage hike fails

The tri-partite meeting convened by the West Bengal Labour Commissioner to discuss the wage hike of the tea garden workers here today failed to resolve the wage hike of the labourers.
Labour Commissioner Javed Akhtar said another tri-partite meeting would be called in the next two weeks to resolve the wage hike demand of the tea garden workers.
In today's meeting the tea garden owners said they would only be able to give Rs 21 hike to the workers in the next three year which was rejected by them.
