Former cricketer and Congress leader Mohammed Azharuddin Monday felt the meetings on forging a front at the national level, even before the Lok Sabha election results were out, may not be very meaningful as it is not known which way the outcome would go.
He hoped that the Lok Sabha results would be in favour of his party.
"These are the things, it will only come into play after elections. People are going and talking, before the election results have come. You don't know what the results are going to come. Hopefully, in favour of my party," he told reporters here.
Azharuddin was asked about TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's proposed meeting with DMK leader M K Stalin in Chennai on Monday.
"We worked very hard. Rahul ji has worked very hard. Priyanka ji worked very hard... Hopefully, it will be in our favour. But, I think, these meetings and all, I feel that, before the results, I think it's not very meaningful. That is my personal view," he said.
Asked how he saw Rao's federal front, he said it is too early to say anything as everything depended on how the results would be.
Azharuddin, a working president of Congress in Telangana, said action should be taken against all those who were at fault in the alleged demolition of a place of worship here during road widening.
The issue led to a law and order situation at Amberpet earlier this month.
