Mein unveils Tai Khampti Revised Tonal Script

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today unveiled the Tai Khampti Revised Tonal Script at Golden Pagoda (Kongmu Kham) in Namsai district.
Chairman of the Tai Literature Committe under the aegis of the Tai Khampti Singpho Council (TKSC), C I Mannou, referred to the four year long hard work done by the committee for the improved version of the script which would cater to the need of the people, an official report informed.
Mein, who is instrumental for the venture, earlier sent delegates of literature committee to Thailand and Burma under the leadership of Ven Vimalatissa, Abbott of Kongmu Kham to undertake consultive study of international Tai Literature.

Mein congratulated the TKSC, especially the Literature Committee for the hard and noble work.
Terming the occasion as 'historic', Mein urged the gathering to learn and impart the knowledge to all and further assured the gathering to take up the matter with the state government for inclusion in the school curriculum in near future.
"This would provide job opportunity to the local people and solve unemployment problem to a great extent," the deputy chief minister added.
