A mentally unstable man was thrashed by some people for allegedly shouting pro-Pakistan slogans in West Delhi's Tilak Nagar area, police said Thursday.
The alleged incident took place on Wednesday night. A purported video of the man raising pro-Pakistan slogans went viral on social media.
In the video, the man can be seen hailing Pakistan from the first-floor balcony of his house. The residents of the area can be seen beating the man for raising slogans and later handed him over to the police, they said.
No case has been registered as the man has been mentally unstable for the past couple of years. He was admitted to a hospital for treatment and was later discharged, a senior police officer said.
