Mentha oil futures fall 0.84% on sluggish demand

Mentha oil prices fell 0.84 per cent to Rs 899.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May fell Rs 7.70, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 899.50 per kg in business turnover of 754 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June eased Rs 7.20, or 0.78 per cent, to Rs 914.10 per kg in 641 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to sluggish demand from consuming industries at the spot market against increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pulled down mentha oil prices.
