Merck Q2 net up 26% at Rs 20.99 cr

Drug firm Merck today reported a 25.83% rise in its standalone net profit to Rs 20.99 crore for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014, mainly on robust sales.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 16.68 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, Merck Ltd said in a filing to BSE.

Standalone net sales of the company also rose to Rs 232.64 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 200.29 crore for the same period year ago.

Shares of Merck Ltd were today trading at Rs 779.90 per scrip in the afternoon trade on BSE, down 6.45% from its previous close.
