The maximum temperature was 43.6 degrees Celsius, after a record breaking spree when it stayed above the 45-degree mark. It was still four degree above normal.
There could be some major relief from the scorching heat in the next couple of days as the weatherman has predicted thunderstorm tomorrow with rain on Friday.
At Palam, the day temperature was recorded at 46 degrees Celsius while at Ayanagar and Ridge area, the maximum temperature was recorded at 45.4 and 45 degrees Celsius respectively.
Humidity levels remained between 40 and 21 degrees Celsius during the day.
Power outages in many areas made life miserable even for those who remained inside home.
The minimum temperature continued to hover above the 30 degree mark settling at 31.2 degrees Celsius. It was three notches above normal.
The maximum temperature is expected to fluctuate between 40 and 44 degrees Celsius in the next two days.
The Met office predicted the maximum and minimum temperature to be around 43 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively
The current spell of extreme hot weather conditions began on June 3 when mercury crossed the 40 degrees mark to settle at 41.7 degrees Celsius. The next day, it soared to 43.4 degrees Celsius.
