Suhaib Mankada, the accused, was intercepted when he was about to fly to Riyadh from the Mumbai international airport.
"Examination of his baggage resulted in recovery of 1,229 grams of white colored crystalline powder, purported to be methamphetamine," said an official statement.
The value of the contraband in illicit markets is Rs 82.34 lakh, it added.
The powder was concealed in the false bottom of a briefcase.
Mankada was booked under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the statement said.
