To acquaint tourists with the second largest metro service in southeast Asia, Hop-On-Hop-Off (HoHo) buses that ferry tourists in Delhi will now make a stoppage at DMRC's Metro museum here.
As many as 29 tourists, including foreigners, today visited the museum at Patel Chowk metro station as the Delhi Tourism's HoHo bus service made its inaugural stop here at 9:15 AM.
"The visitors were shown the exhibits of the museum and briefed about them by the museum curator. A treasure trove of display panels, historical photographs and exhibits about the Metro, the museum traces the genesis of the Delhi Metro," a DMRC official said.
Some 26 informative panels along with working models of the Operational Control Centre (OCC), CCTV, a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and a Metro train are demonstrated at the museum.
Other exhibits includes miniature of Delhi Metro mascot, station models, a detailed route map and mannequins wearing metro uniforms.
John Bhaij, a visitor from the UK said, "The metro is making a difference to commuting not just for locals but also for tourists. A real achievement. Well done India."
B V Shivam, a tourist from Dubai, said, "I have also travelled in Dubai Metro but with all the constraints and demands, the Delhi Metro services are well maintained. Way to go.
