In the backdrop of a top Kerala police allegedly copying in the LLM examinations, the Mahatma Gandhi University today decided to instal closed circuit television cameras in all its examination centres by the next academic year to monitor the entire process.
As soon as the examinations are over the hard disc of the CCTV would be sealed and submitted to the controller of examinations, Vice Chancellor, Dr Sabu Sebastian told reporters after a syndicate meeting here today.
A seven-member Syndicate Sub Committee was today constituted by the university to look into the two reports submitted in connection with the copying incident.
The sub committee will look into the reports submitted by the St Paul's college examination centre at Kochi and that of the Deputy Registrar. It will also seek comments of IGP, T J Jose, who has now been asked to go on compulsory leave. Jose has, however, rejected the charges.
The VC said the varsity was conducting 12,000 examinations per year.
The Syndicate committee on Students Welfare Discipline and Grievance Committee will enquire into the reported malpractices in the Off Campus examinations in the last couple of days including that of St Pauls Kalamassery, Kolkata and Thrikodithanam.
A Next Generation high security certificate with high security holograms to be introduced for the new Degree Certificates, it was decided. Answer Scripts would be scanned and given to the students.
