The four member team from Ministry of Home Affairs, led by the Under Secretary in Union Home Ministry M K Bhardwaj, visited border belts along International Border (IB) in Jammu district to assess the ground level situation after the firing and floods, a senior District officer said.
The team visited several areas in Suchetgarh, Bobiya, Treva, Chingiya in Arnia and R S Pura border tehsil and interacted with the farmers and people of the border hamlets to know about the problems faced by them.
They also demanded plots at safer places along the IB to escape the repeated border firing by Pakistan.
The team also inspected various farm areas along with the farmers and inspected the destruction of agriculture lands and crops due to heavy rains and floods. The team assured their demands would be fulfilled, the officer said.
