Edgar Wright is directing the superhero movie for Marvel Studios, with filming expected to start later this spring, reported The Wrap.
When asked to comment on reports that he is joining Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Patrick Wilson in the movie, Pena said, "I don't know what's happening, but as soon I know, I'll tell you."
The 'Babel' actor added that he is "still figuring out" a potential deal. Initial reports said that Pena was in negotiations for the superhero movie were denied by Marvel at the start of the year.
Pena's forthcoming projects include 'Cesar Chavez' and David Ayer's World War II drama 'Fury'.
He will also play bereaved father Mark Lasseter in 'Gracepoint', Fox's adaptation of the ITV crime drama 'Broadchurch'.
'Ant-Man' is due to be released on July 17, 2015.
