The Spanish Red Cross says 14 migrants were treated for injuries suffered when they and some 50 others stormed border fences separating Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta from Morocco.
In a tweet, the organisation said the migrants were taken to a city hospital for cuts and bone fractures after the early morning crossing today.
The Interior Ministry could not immediately comment. Spain's Europa Press news agency said some 200 migrants had attempted the crossing.
Thousands of sub-Saharan Africans living illegally in Morocco try to get to Europe each year by climbing rows of 20 -foot-tall (6-meter-tall) barbed-wire fences surrounding Ceuta and Melilla, Spain's other North African enclave.
Those who make it across head for temporary migrant accommodation centers. They are eventually repatriated or let go.
