Actor Miguel Ferrer best known for his role in "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Iron Man 3" has died at 61. He had throat cancer.
In a statement obtained by Variety, Clooney wrote, "Today history will mark giant changes in our world, and lost to most will be that on the same day Miguel Ferrer lost his battle to throat cancer. But not lost to his family."
Clooney added that Ferrer made the world a brighter and better place and that he will loved and remembered forever.

He started his career as a studio musician. He often went on tours with his mother and singer-actor Bing Crosby, before making his foray into television and films.
Various other celebrities took to social media to pay homage to Ferrer.

"A death in the family: just learned we lost Miguel Ferrer today. Join me pls in sending sympathy to his wife and family," wrote Frost.
"We go back to 1974. Broke in on the same show. Great talent, better man. Working & writing for him a highlight in every part of my life," he added.
Noted British filmmaker Edgar Wright remembered Ferrer's performance in the 2014 film "RoboCop".
He tweeted, "RIP the great Miguel Ferrer. Memorable in many roles like TWIN PEAKS & just brilliant as Bob Morton in ROBOCOP. 'I ... Love that guy!'."
Ferrer is survived by his wife, Lori and sons, Lukas and Rafi.
