Barring mild rains and precipitation at some places, rains eluded most parts of the state even as sky remained heavily overcast for most part of the day.
Nurpur in Kangra district was the wettest in the region with 28 mm of rains while, Saloni and Dharamsala received 22 mm and 18 mm of rains, followed by Jogindernagar 14 mm, Bangana 13 mm, Pandoh 10 mm and Palampur and Gaggal 9 mm.
Shimla, Solan and several areas in mid and lower hills did not have rains for the third consecutive day today but there was no significant change in mercury.
The local MeT office has predicted rains and thundershowers at many places during next six days as a fresh feeble Western Disturbance (WD) as an upper air system lies over Jammu and Kashmir and neighbourhood.
