Militant hideout busted in J&K

Security forces today busted a militant hideout and seized a cache of arms and ammunition in the higher reaches of the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Based on specific information, the troops of Rashtriya Rifles under Delta Force and Jammu and Kashmir police in a joint operation busted a militant hideout in higher reaches of Tankimal forest in the district and seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores," Jammu-based defense spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
The recovery includes three Pistols with magazines, 12 rounds of AK 47 ammunition, 19 rounds of 7.62 mm SLR ammunition, four radio sets, one binocular, three RPG rounds, four UBGL grenades, three Chinese and six Hand Grenades and explosives, he said.

The General Officer Commanding Delta Force complimented the troops who took part in the operation, he said.
The recovery of this cache is in continuation of the sustained efforts by Delta Force towards dismantling of terrorists infrastructure and support base of remnant terrorists in Chenab Valley, the GOC commented.
"The troops marched over a long distance in inclement weather to carry out the search of the forested area and seized the cache which was hidden underground," the Spokesman added.
