Militant surrenders in Meghalaya

A Garo militant has surrendered before security forces, the police said.
The member of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), who had joined the outfit last year, surrendered yesterday, the police said.
The militant is a resident of Damra of Goalpara district in Assam, a police officer said, adding that the militant surrendered before the Border Security Officials and South Garo Hills (SGH) police.
He deposited one country made shot gun and 26 rounds of ammunition, the police officer said.
