Militants shot dead retired police officer in Kashmir

Militants have shot dead a retired police officer in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, police said today.
The retired Superintendent of police was shot dead late last night near his residence in Ashmuji.
"At about 11.30 pm, some unknown militants fired upon a retired SP Bashir Ahmad Dar near his residence at Ashmuji in Kulgam," a police official said.
He said Dar was referred to SKIMS Hospital here but was declared dead on arrival.
