Minister takes stock of crop damage in Gzb

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Shivpal Yadav today took stock of damage to crops in Ghaziabad through video conferencing, official sources said.
Public Works Department and Irrigation Minister Yadav and Chairman, Revenue Board, Anil Gupta took stock of damage to crops in Ghaziabad through video conferencing, District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma said.
The minister was briefed about damage to crops in each and every tehsil of the district due to hailstorm and rains, he said.
"District administration will start disbursement of crop damage compensation to the hailstorm-affected farmers from tomorrow onwards as we have received an initial instalment of Rs 2.5 crore from the government," said the DM.
"A demand for Rs 6.19 crore was raised before the state government after assessment of crops damage," said Sharma.
