Ministry expansion gives representation to various sections:

BJP today said the expansion of the Narendra Modi government showcases the country's diversity giving representation to various sections, regions and castes and empowering the common man at the grassroot level.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ministry gives national representation to various sections and castes in the society, including the poor, dalits and youth, besides providing representation to regions across the country," BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
He said the Prime Minister has given importance to both experience and image while expanding his ministry in which he has also taken care of elevating and empowering the common man at the grassroot level.

"Modiji has selected people with poor and humble backgrounds to serve the people and come up to their expectations," he said.
Sharma said the Prime Minister has not only taken care of the poor, but also youth, besides dalits and OBCs by inducting them into his government.
The BJP leader also noted that the government has representation from across the country, besides various castes and communities.

"His stress is on performance and serving the countrymen, the promises he made ahead of elections," he said.
Former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and former Shiv Sainik Suresh Prabhu were inducted into the Cabinet as 21 new faces joined the Union Council of Ministers but Shiv Sena stayed away refusing BJP's offer of just a Minister of State berth.

The already-strained BJP-Sena ties further dipped when Prabhu, Power Minister in the Vajpayee government, joined BJP this morning to take oath as a Cabinet minister along with senior BJP leader J P Nadda and Jat leader from Haryana Birender Singh, who joined BJP ahead of recent Assembly elections.
This is the first expansion of his ministry by Modi since he assumed office in May. Parrikar is all set to be given the Defence portfolio, which is being held as an additional charge by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
