Minor boy drowns

A 15-year-old boy
drowned in Pushkar Canal while taking bath in Jaggampeta mandal in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh today, police said.
Saladi Veerababu went to Pushkar Canal along with six of his friends to take bath this morning, when he got drowned due to heavy curent, Jaggampeta Circle Inspector G V VSatyanarayana said.
His friends tried to save him, but their attempts went in vain, he said.
The body was fished out and handed over to his family, he added.
