The incident took place late last night when the three-year-old victim was attacked by the leopard, which dragged him to a nearby forest, they said.

Later, the body was recovered two kms away from the village.

Enraged by the incident, hundreds of people blocked the state highway for several hours, demanding immediate action in this regard.

However, the blockade was lifted following assurance by senior officials, including DSP Ghumarwin Manoj Jambwal, that the wild animal would be killed or captured and safety of people of the area would be ensured.
