"A window AC in a room on the second floor of the building had caught fire. It was doused within 15 minutes," said A K Sharma, Director of Delhi Fire Service.
According to another fire official, they got a call about the blaze at 8:40 AM following which eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. No injury was reported in the incident.
Last Saturday, a fire had broken out on the sixth floor of Shastri Bhavan, damaging some rooms occupied by officials of Information and Broadcasting Ministry although no one was injured.
