A minor fire broke out today in the premises of the Gujarat High Court here, a Fire officer said.
Nobody was injured in the incident and the functioning of the high court was not affected, he said.
The blaze was triggered by a short circuit in an electric panel outside the office of the bar association on the campus of the HC, said Additional Chief Fire Officer Rajesh Bhatt.
"A short circuit caused a fire today in the corridor leading to the office of the bar association," said Bhatt.
He said the blaze engulfed the electric panel, but was contained shortly before it could spread any further.
Plumes of smoke could be seen emanating from a part of the high court complex.
The fire caused panic among people visiting the premises.
