Minor girl commits suicide after father taken away by police

Distressed after her father was taken to the police station following alleged misbehaviour with her school teacher over payment of fees, a 13-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself in Sihani Gate area in the district, police said today.
Priyanshi, a class 9th student took the extreme step after her teacher reached her home and had a heated exchange of words with her father over payment of school fees, said Salmantaj Patil, SP (City).
Her father was taken away by the police after the teacher called them, alleging misbehaviour, they said.
The girl's dead body has been sent for postmortem and further investigation in underway. An FIR in the case is yet to be registered, they said.
