Minor girl freed from clutches of 'tormentor' father
Press Trust of India Indore A 15-year-old girl was today freed from the clutches of her father, who allegedly assaulted and tortured her regularly.
The minor was rescued by an NGO, Child Line, with help from officials of Madhya Pradesh Women and Child Welfare Department.
Bhagwandas Sahu, Child Protection Officer of the Department, told PTI they had received complaint from the NGO that one Rajesh Birthare often beat up his daughter and also tortured her.
Birthare, a resident of Palasia area, also did not allow his daughter to meet her mother, who has separated from her husband, Sahu said.
The rescued girl is currently in custody of Child Line. An inquiry is on after which necessary action will be taken against Birthare, he added.
