Minor girl kidnapped, raped in Pb

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped at Ranipur village near here following which two persons were today booked, police said.
The incident took place on Monday night when the accused identified as Sanjiv Kumar (42), a joint laboratory attendant at a local technical college, and his friend Johal (43) kidnapped the minor girl and raped her, they said.
Sanjiv also runs an astrologer shop in the village, police said.
The duo raped the girl in the astrologer's office, police said, adding, the accused then fled from the scene.
The incident came to light yesterday when family members of the victim found her in the office in an unconscious condition following which she was hospitalised in the local civil hospital, they said.

Upon regaining consciousness, the victim narrated the incident to her parents.
Based on her statement, police have registered a case under sections 376 (rape), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) against the duo.
Raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding duo, police said.
