The 23-year-old accused has been arrested, they said.
According to the 12-year-old girl, the accused, who was in an inebriated condition, asked her to come out of her house yesterday. He promised to buy her sweets and asked her to accompany him outside.
The accused then took her to a secluded spot and started touching her inappropriately, police said, adding that he also threatened her.
The girl managed to flee from the spot and locked herself inside her house.
